LIBRA
New Moon (see New Moon report) in your sign on the 8th provides an opportunity for a new beginning. It is a potent time for making wishes that stimulate new growth and new desires that can result in win win situations. It’s a good time to articulate or write down those desires that can see you moving forward into areas that are more productive and conducive to your well being.
SCORPIO
Pluto teams up with Mercury around the 5th making for a few intense days where communication may be more about what is left unsaid than what is actually stated. With the North Node retrograding back and making close contact all month connections made during this time may have far reaching implications not only on a career level but also in those day-to-day affairs that need to run smoothly.
SAGITTARIUS
The continuing conjunction of the retrograding Jupiter and Uranus has optimism and originality at the forefront. Mid-month, when aligning with the Sun and Mars, you may need to make adjustments in what you are reaching for as you may uncover a not so insignificant detail that forces you to change tactics. Better to have found it now than later when you could be dealing with repercussions.
CAPRICORN
First half of the month has your ruler Saturn teaming up with Mercury the trickster and the Libran Sun indicating that perhaps outdated obligations and expectations may be standing in the way of finding that needed balance within yourself. The latter half of the month you may experience difficulties in cooperating with associates due to a lack of adaptability from either side.
AQUARIUS
The continuing conjunction of Neptune / Chiron in Aquarius an air sign in your solar first house is highlighting perhaps a need of taking into account impressions instead of a dominant need for the facts. There are limits to language whereby the power of feelings can override even the most logical of arguments if intuition is given is given free reign and acceptance.
PISCES
Quite a bit of planetary activity around your ruler mid-month including the Moon entering your sign for her 2-1/2 day visit. Flexibility is encouraged here where logic and intuition can merge. Forgiveness is possible as the earth beneath your feet is softened. Care should also be taken as unrealistic expectations or faulty judgements are not only costly but also have repercussions.
ARIES
Relationships heat up at the beginning of the month but tempers may also flair, as you still demand time out for yourself. The Full Moon on the 23rd (see Full Moon report) in your sign highlights the need to pilot a course from independence to partnership and back again. It is not about self or other but rather finding the common ground between the two making it easy to traverse between the two.
TAURUS
The conjunction between Venus and Mars in the hot blooded sign of Scorpio falls in your seventh house of relationships till mid-month indicating a steamy affair. Issues are never straightforward in this sign so if you are looking for a hassle free candle lit dinner forget it as Uranus joins the mix creating a more volatile and explosive atmosphere. Venus begins her retrograde period on the 8th so plenty of time for modification.
GEMINI
Mercury moves from the analytical Virgo to the more adaptable Libra on the 3rd where it may become much harder to make a decision. This can sometimes be a good thing as the pros and cons need to be weighed before an informed choice can be made. Objectivity may go out the window though after the 21st when Scorpio encourages the need to plumb the depths when searching for facts.
CANCER
The New Moon on the 8th highlights your solar tenth house providing an opportunity to examine your achievements and goals in life and to initiate any plans or changes that will help you accomplish them. By the Full Moon on the 23rd you can reassess these plans in light of family or other commitments but still maintaining your direction with perhaps a few adjustment.
LEO
Never one to be too concerned with keeping the peace you have none the less found a certain reluctance in wanting to rock the boat lately. The time for negotiation and arbitration will be over on the 23rd when Scorpio will demand a more direct approach. If you have been afraid of confrontation in case it disturbs an existing uneasy peace the line-up of planets in Scorpio may demand you deal with it so as you can move on.
VIRGO
Mercury’s stay in Libra is building up good powers of comparison. Creative thinking and teamwork can be maximised as too the ability to mediate and adapt. When the communication planet moves into Scorpio on the 23rd the breaks are off and lively disputes, argument and fights may result but this may be what is needed to break the impasse or find a solution.
Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and being a cardinal sign heralds a change of season. Ruled by Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love, aesthetics and civilized good taste it is the scales, the symbol of this sign, that has a deeply symbolic meaning since the need for balance and harmony is paramount.
The Greeks saw Ares (Aries, this month’s Full Moon) and Aphrodite as particularly potent deities as they were among the few divinities that could actually possess mortals - Aries with rage and Aphrodite with her spell of longing, yearning and love.
We could be forgiven in thinking that this New Moon, with its focus on the ease and attraction inherent in Libran-style relationships, promises a bed of roses but we all know that roses come with thorns. This is particularly so this month as Pluto, being prominent, is not so easily deceived by surface charm but demands a closer inspection. Social acceptability is not high on Pluto’s agenda but rather the need to get to the root of any problem.
To get the full benefit from this month’s Libran New Moon you may need to get down and dirty for if diplomacy or negotiating is not achieving the required results then interactions will become more intense and those that are not at ease living on the edge will be well out of their comfort zone.
With Venus and Mars in the passionate Scorpio and both Mercury (communication) and Saturn (taskmaster) linked to the ruler of this sign, strong bonds and deep emotional connections are positive outcomes if you are willing to take the risk. This is a constructive time to overcome fear or trepidation and find the courage to instigate and activate deeper and more meaningful associations.
Whether you sit on the fence or get involved tension may seem to mount so it may be in your own best interests to get over a preoccupation with fairness and learn to effectively negotiate even if this means heated discussions.

FULL MOON at 29 degrees 33 minutes ARIES on 23 OCTOBER at 12:36 pm AEDT
All Full Moons bring light into the dark, a metaphor for becoming aware of personal and collective shadows. Now we have enough light to see what has been dormant or underdeveloped and also enough light to see our way forward. As the Moon is at maximum fullness, so too do we feel full and ready to change.
This month we juggle the polarities of Aries and Libra or Self and Other. Light is being shed on where we need to apply our individuality and where we need to find balance, fairness and objectivity. It’s about learning to go after what we want, taking the initiative and finding pleasure in what we do so that we are not dependent upon other people for satisfaction. Awareness needs to be raised on how to willingly deal with conflict and how to confront and resolve issues and find solutions that are mutually beneficial.
Mars, the warrior planet and ruler of Aries has no clear plan of battle as he is in Neptune’s thrall so it all can seem a bit too hard. Moody, discontent even feelings of inferiority can result from a lack of action or resorting to the easy way out. Do nothing. Of course this coupling can also see the emergence of faith in own abilities and the inspiration to make and implement plans and strategies. This is enhanced by the trine to the ongoing conjunction of Jupiter/Uranus which helps by not only giving a quick grasp of the situation but also by providing the impetus to take timely action.
The Libran Sun also forms a trine to Neptune bringing the desire for a deeper more spiritual understanding of our souls purpose. Combined with the effects of a Full Moon it gives added potential for gaining a clearer idea of where you are in your life and how well you are fulfilling your spiritual and material needs.

COSMOS
Changes in planetary signs and movements this month include:
SUN: moves into Scorpio on the 23rd and is the 8th and most passionate and intense sign of the zodiac. A water sign, there can be a strong desire to experience life on a feeling level with intellectual understanding no longer enough. Emotions run hot and may lead to behaviour that you do not understand, forcing you to delve deep into your inner depths in order to get in touch and try and understand them.
MERCURY: enters Libra on the 3rd and decision making may become problematic as this sign likes nothing better than to look at both sides of a person or situation, hence the reputation for fence sitting. Great for debating or negotiating though. Moves into Scorpio on the 21st and to hell with discussion as, with most water signs, innate instincts demand caution and just how much is revealed. Will defend opinions and beliefs.
VENUS: in Scorpio goes retrograde on the 8th so any relationship issues whether personal or professional may need reworking or indeed you may find yourself having to go over past territory before moving ahead. You will have plenty of time to tidy up loose ends as Venus goes direct again on November 19th.
MARS: while the Sun represents how we go about defining ourselves it is Mars we equate with personal will. Entering the enthusiastic fire sign of Sagittarius on the 28th we suddenly look beyond today into a more exciting future but still need to keep our feet firmly on the ground and not become careless about managing the more practical concerns of today. A competitive spirit with physical activity. |
