Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 21 April

New moon at 5 degrees 04 minutes Taurus

TAURUS

A special birthday for our earthy bulls as Mars planet of desire makes his conjunction to Venus, goddess of love in the last degree of Pisces. Pleasure and passion unleashed.

GEMINI

If you have been thinking about furthering your education in some manner now is a great time to actually get down and do the planning. Look at the logistics and feasibility, will it work for you?

CANCER

Use the influence of the New Moon in Taurus on Saturday to raise your awareness of the desire for change. There are many different possibilities for you to create your own niche in the world.

LEO

The Sun’s movement into your solar tenth house combined with the New Moon effect indicate it may be an ideal time to set and meet some of those goals you have been planning.

VIRGO

If you are in tune with your inner needs then you know that you respond well to planning and routine. If this is so have the foresight to implement a long-range goal that sets you up in the future.

LIBRA

The conjunction of Mars to Venus may have its influence on you in the workplace in the form of emotionally charged interactions. There is nothing logical about this to help you out.

SCORPIO

If you want to make a good impression get stuck into all that work that must be done and you just may find that satisfaction will also be derived from it. Your impact on others is quite strong.

SAGITTARIUS

Jupiter, planet of expansion squaring off to the planet of communication ensures you have plenty of optimism and faith in your own abilities. Make sure you have all the facts though before plunging in.

CAPRICORN

An interaction with a sibling may leave you feeling lonely and depressed. You may be looking on the dark side so your perspective may not be all that it should be. Allow a few days to pass.

AQUARIUS

Try looking at an existing problem with fresh eyes. You have been applying the same solution but just in different ways and it does not work. Fresh solutions bring new insights.

PISCES

Lots of creative energy has you jumping out of your skin so put it to good use through art or music. You could be dancing the night away just make sure you are not drinking it away as well.

ARIES

Indecisiveness finally gives way to action as Mars moves into its sign of Aries, late Wednesday night. No more hesitation as energy flows more efficiently as the tempo increases.

NEW MOON at 5 degrees 04 minutes TAURUS

This New Moon at 11.22pm (AEST) Saturday night re-energises and attempts to put us in touch with all those earthy senses that ground us to our bodies and the environment. It invites us to focus on the concrete or tangible, to enjoy and appreciate what we have, whether that be the smell of the roses in the garden or the stable joys of our lives.

The earthly trine from the Sun/Moon to Pluto, planet of regeneration, reminds us not only of individual power but also how, with patience, satisfaction can be gained from more than material pleasures or hedonistic lifestyles.

Mercury, Uranus and Jupiter provides the opportunity and confidence to step out of set patterning and see the bigger picture, giving a wealth of ideas that is still grounded in sound common sense. Finally we have the conjunction of Mars and Venus, astrology’s lovers, who have just moved into Aries, the ‘natural’ first sign of the zodiac. They also hook up with Pluto, indicating that if we take the initiative and have the courage to get down and dirty, we can cut through the bull dust and clarify those inner resources we are sometimes afraid to acknowledge.

Pluto’s involvement in this month’s New Moon challenges us to access both our individual and collective ‘buried treasure’ from the past in order to confront the future.
