Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 3 August

Full Moon at 13 Aquarius 43

LEO

The Full Moon on Thursday makes it a good time to let go of that selfish and me being most important attitude and plan to spend some more quality time with a loved one. Amazing what can happen when you spread the light.

VIRGO

When Pluto, Lord of the Underworld smiles on your ruling planet Mercury things don’t look as confronting and you may find this to be an excellent time to delve into those areas that have been avoided. Great for therapy.

LIBRA

Venus moving into your solar tenth house of career and aspirations means there may be a bit of juggling needed as you try to achieve a balance between home and family. Not everyone will be satisfied. What’s new.

SCORPIO

So it all just seems too hard and too much effort. If you sit any longer you will be able to watch the roots becoming more and more entrenched. You’re getting some good ideas - try throwing them around.

SAGITTARIUS

Conflict on the relationship front has you doubting yourself. This is not necessarily a bad thing as a bit of introspection has you searching for answers in corners that have been overlooked for too long.

CAPRICORN

You may start mulling over things of the past and prefer to go off by yourself in order to think and evaluate. An older person may be able to help at this time so don’t think you have to stand alone.

AQUARIUS

Full Moon in your sign so don’t take for granted the cooperation of others unless there is a shared or common purpose. Even here though more clarification and/or alternatives may need to be raised.

PISCES

Situations arise that are going to need a realistic assessment so get real and dump that pessimistic attitude. If you stop under-rating yourself and try to impress people opportunities will open.

ARIES

If you lack a bit of self-motivation hook up with a friend or sibling and initiate or start planning an exercise regime that will become quite routine by the time summer, and the need to bare all, is upon you.

TAURUS

If neighbourly relationships are a bit tense or strained at the moment don’t ignore the problem or think it will blow over. Feelings have been ruffled and all it takes is manners and sound common sense.

GEMINI

Something you think of as mere social chitchat can have a far deeper meaning and have a stronger impact than is realised. So if you get more of a response than you bargained for do some back tracking.

CANCER

This month’s Full Moon straddles your solar second and eighth houses of personal and shared resources. You may need to compromise about that special purchase if an agreement needs to be reached.

FULL MOON at 13 AQUARIUS 43

When the Moon is full then the Sun is in the opposite sign and, with the Sun being in the sign of the Lion, this month’s Full Moon on Thursday at 10.55am AEST falls in Aquarius, the great equaliser.

As the eleventh sign in the archetypal cycle of twelve, coming after the conservative Capricorn, Aquarius reminds us that humanities need to expand and reform to move beyond the status quo. Leo, on the other hand, represents individual’s need to be self-directive and self-expressive.

It is a particularly powerful Full Moon this month as we also have the Lunar Eclipse where the Sun’s rays to the Moon are blocked by the Earth’s mass, creating a momentary breach in time and space. Our negative or shadow selves are often exposed at these times so the drama queen theatrics of our Leos in full roar or the distancing or detachment techniques deployed by our Water Bearer may come out to play.

Opposites do attract so becoming aware of our weaknesses we can in turn change them into strengths. Leo’s loving warmth and self-confidence can find identity within the ideals of Aquarian open-mindedness, tolerance and brotherhood of man. The Moon straddles the once every sixty years or so square between Uranus and Pluto combining the revolutionary with the evolutionary. Adding the Mars/Saturn square the need for mental and physical stamina before achieving results.

Dane Rudhyars Sabian Symbols from An Astrological Mandala

14 degrees Aquarius – A train entering a tunnel – the ability to shortcut the process of natural evolution by the exercise of will, mental skill and physical self discipline.

14 degrees Leo – A human soul seeking opportunities for outward manifestation – the yearning for self-actualization.
