Seeing Stars

Seeing Stars for the month of February 2010

NEW MOON at 25 degrees 18 minutes AQUARIUS

AQUARIUS
Line up of planets in your solar first house heralds the time of year when it is time to recharge the batteries in preparation for the year ahead.
The New Moon in your sign on the 14th helps you operate from a larger worldview considering alternatives. Mercury moving into your sign on the 10th gives you a quick grasp on a situation that has been proving difficult to deal with.

PISCES
A lack of perspective may keep you locked into a pattern of behaviour that has you continuing to under-rate yourself. This also causes others to under-estimate your abilities creating lost opportunities. The Full Moon on 1 March provides a wonderful opportunity of letting go of these self-defeating habits and make more practical and realistic assessments.

ARIES
Mars, planet of action, continues his retrograde movement all month making hard aspects to the Sun, Jupiter and Mercury in that order. This can mean you may be dealing with the negative effects of hostility, arguments and conflict, which cause plans to backfire. Things will pick up towards the end of the month if you reconsider your actions channelling them in more practical directions.

TAURUS
Dissatisfaction makes you restless and unsure of your direction particularly in regard to your life goals and job satisfaction. Mid month may see help arrive in the form of a friend or acquaintance that helps transform your life as they help you to understand your emotions and how they are affecting your relationships. This could also include becoming involved in a group or networking experience.

GEMINI
The beginning of the month may see important social or business contacts being made or a time of discussing legal or joint financial issues with a professional. Things may get quite heated mid month as opinions differ and veer in different directions. A compromise may be needed and can be worked out towards the end of the month when emotions have had a chance to cool off.

CANCER
There seems to have been a concentration of your thoughts in the relationship area of your life for a few months now and you may have come up with the solution to a few of your problematic areas. Knowing what should be done and actually doing it seems to be two different things but around the second week has you accepting and being more enthusiastic to change.

LEO
With Mars still retrograde and moving backwards through your solar second house you may actually feel like your finances are in a downward spiral also. This is a time for a more reflective approach when considering financial expenditure. This means impulse purchases or anything that is not strictly necessary should be avoided while you take stock of your bank balance.

VIRGO
Your feelings of responsibility and commitment to children, yes even those adults that come under that heading, start to lighten up a bit. Just when you feel the pressure is off and possibly because you have been holding on to a bit of resentment, disputes in the workplace or with siblings upsets your nervous system and all you want to do is retreat and be alone. Meditation or yoga will help keep stress level to a minimum.

LIBRA
Things don’t seem to be running very well for you during the first few weeks of February due perhaps to a disorganised and impractical manner which plays havoc with your daily affairs. This has everything to do with your inconsistency and failure to pay attention to detail. Once you start to concentrate on what you are doing and become more thorough in your application things will improve.

SCORPIO
Go Scorpio, for although Saturn and Pluto the zodiacal heavies are still squaring off, demanding you eliminate all that is superfluous in your life help is here in the form of a sextile from Jupiter bringing opportunity and optimism for making those creative changes. By reforming and remolding your environment you are better able to gain greater freedom of movement in all your activities.

SAGITTARIUIS
The Sun’s movement into your solar third house increases the tempo of your life. There is more activity, more moving around, more of a need to communicate on a personal level to all those that are important to you. Travel becomes important and both car and phone become an extension of yourself as you use both to connect. Make sure you do your share of listening as well as inputting.

CAPRICORN
An association may be formed at the beginning of this month with those who share a common interest or purpose so keep your eyes and ears open. If you are storing up resentment or holding back on giving your opinion now is the time to state your views - just be wary of your tone of voice and try not to come from a defensive position. Be prepared for constructive criticism.

NEW MOON at 25 degrees 18 minutes AQUARIUS

ENTER THE CHINESE NEW YEAR AND THE YEAR OF THE TIGER

New Moons herald the beginning of a new cycle and this month’s New Moon on Sunday 14 February at 1:51pm falls in the humanitarian sign of Aquarius. A fixed Air sign, concerned with the brotherhood of man, this sign is very tuned in or attuned to the universal Will.

This New Moon conjuncts both Chiron, known as the Wounded Healer, and Neptune, who represents suffering and sacrifice. Perhaps this alignment is about facing up to the harsher realities both on a global and personal level. Chiron, discovered in 1977, is said to represent that part of ourselves that has not only suffered pain and angst but also where we can heal or hurt others in a similar manner. The conjunction of Chiron and Neptune has been in effect since 2007 and remains up until 2014 (10 degree orb) indicating hope of a global readiness in addressing those issues of inequality and perceiving the unity of all things.

The zodiacal heavies Saturn and Pluto are still squaring off and will continue to do so till August. Known for having quite a debilitating effect, as if continually bashing against a closed door, the sextile to the retrograding Mars may hamper taking direct action but will at least start to recognise what needs to be done and start formulating a plan of attack.

This New Moon also falls on Valentine’s Day and Venus, the Goddess of Love and Attraction, has conjoined with the benevolent and expansive Jupiter indicating that relationships can take on a joyous wonderment with cares and worries forgotten or forgiven for a time. The piper always has to be paid though and although you may look aside for a while, enjoying the moment, don’t avoid dealing with those issues that have been set aside.

FULL MOON at 9 VIRGO 59 on 1 MARCH at 3:38am

Full Moons indicate a time of maximum light and illumination with the luminaries in opposing signs. Highlighting the signs of Virgo and Pisces, Earth and Water elements of compatible energy we see an opening of the eyes to the realities of life. No longer able to drift aimlessly along or retreat into a fantasy world, denying hard evidence, it is time to analyse your perceptions of circumstances and people, realistically filtering out those that are toxic or debilitate.

Virgo has the ability to bring order and clarity out of confusion while Pisces gives the ability to trust in yourself and the universe, discriminating between those who want to harm or exploit with those who inspire and uplift. In this way you are able to think more clearly helping to focus on the essentials without poisoning yourself with worry, anxieties or guilt about shirking responsibilities.

Jupiter, who in mythology was the God of the heavens, is the largest planet in our solar system and as such extends this largess to those planets he contacts. Conjuncting the Sun in Pisces we question where we have come from and where we are headed. Everything falls under the beams of the Sun highlighting our beliefs, parental and societal expectations and how they help or hinder our lives. Are we being enriched and broadened by them or held back by dread or fear and powerlessness?

Mercury in Aquarius aligns with Chiron and Neptune raising questions and demanding answers about how we are making a difference both on a personal and global level and realisations arise that by helping each other we are helping ourselves and those who follow us. It’s about thinking outside of the square, the inclusion of self/other that increases our commonality and kinship to all mankind.

The Venus/Uranus yearly get together backs up this statement of ‘kinship to all mankind’ promoting reconciliation, compassion and forgiveness. Promoting tolerance it also offers inspiration and insight to those that are intone to the vibrations, creating works of art that move from the norm.
